  • Published grid capacity

Capacity figures published by network operators for substations, shown in each substation record.

  • Generation and pipeline

Operating wind, hydro, solar and storage plants, and projects in development, each linked to its owners and developers.

  • Transmission and distribution

High voltage lines and substations by voltage level, and the distribution substations beneath them.

Market context

How the grid works in Portugal

REN operates Portugal's transmission network and E-REDES runs most of the distribution grid. Renewables supply most of the country's electricity, led by wind and hydro, with solar growing fastest.

Grid capacity is the main limit on new solar and storage, and much of it is allocated through auctions and agreements with the network operator. Capacity data at substation level lets developers check where projects can still connect.
