Code of Ethics

Last Updated: December 20, 2025

Tera operates at the intersection of energy, technology, and finance. We recognize that our data and tools influence critical infrastructure decisions, capital allocation, and global sustainability efforts. This Code of Ethics articulates the fundamental principles that guide our company. It serves as our promise to our clients, partners, employees, and the broader public that we will conduct our business with the highest standards of integrity and responsibility.

1. Foundational Integrity

1.1 Honesty and Transparency. We believe that trust is the currency of the intelligence business. We are committed to honesty in our communications, transparency in our methodologies, and clarity in our business dealings. We do not compromise the truth for commercial gain.

1.2 Accountability. We take ownership of our actions and their consequences. Whether it is a data error or a business decision, we acknowledge mistakes, learn from them, and take immediate corrective action.

1.3 Compliance. We strictly adhere to all applicable laws and regulations in the 130+ jurisdictions where we track assets. We view legal compliance as the floor, not the ceiling, of our ethical obligations.

2. Data Ethics and Accuracy

2.1 Commitment to Truth. In an era of information abundance, accuracy is paramount. We employ rigorous validation processes to ensuring our data reflects reality. We distinguish clearly between observed facts, modeled estimates, and third-party reports.

2.2 Critical Infrastructure Responsibility. We acknowledge that our data maps the world's critical power systems. We handle this information with a deep sense of responsibility, balancing transparency with the need to protect sensitive infrastructure from malicious exploitation.

2.3 Privacy and Confidentiality. We safeguard the confidential information entrusted to us by our clients and partners. We respect individual privacy rights and process personal data only for legitimate business purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

3. AI and Technology Ethics

3.1 Human-Centric AI. We develop Artificial Intelligence as a tool to augment human intelligence, not to replace professional judgment. We design our systems to be helpful, harmless, and honest, ensuring that users remain in the loop for critical decisions.

3.2 Algorithmic Fairness. We actively work to identify and mitigate bias in our models. We strive to ensure that our analytics do not perpetuate historical inequities or discriminate against specific regions, technologies, or market participants.

3.3 Explainability. We value explainability over 'black box' solutions. Whenever possible, we provide the context, sources, and confidence intervals associated with our AI-generated insights, empowering users to verify the results.

4. Business Conduct

4.1 Fair Competition. We compete vigorously based on the quality of our product and the depth of our data. We do not engage in disparagement of competitors, industrial espionage, or anti-competitive practices.

4.2 Anti-Corruption. Tera maintains a zero-tolerance policy for bribery and corruption. We do not offer or accept improper payments, gifts, or favors to influence business outcomes, regardless of local custom.

4.3 Conflicts of Interest. We maintain objectivity in our research and ratings. Our analysts and employees are required to disclose and manage any personal or financial interests that could influence—or appear to influence—their professional judgment.

5. Environmental and Social Impact

5.1 Accelerating the Transition. Our core mission is to accelerate the development of a cleaner, more efficient power grid. We prioritize features and datasets that help the world transition to renewable energy and modernize infrastructure.

5.2 Sustainable Operations. We are committed to minimizing our own environmental footprint. We prioritize energy-efficient computing practices and support remote work to reduce commuting emissions.

5.3 Human Rights. We respect human rights in our operations and supply chain. We do not knowingly support or partner with entities involved in forced labor, human trafficking, or other serious human rights abuses.

6. Speaking Up

6.1 Open Culture. We foster a culture where employees and partners feel safe to raise ethical concerns without fear of retaliation. We believe that identifying issues early is the key to maintaining integrity.

6.2 Reporting Channels. Ethical concerns can be reported directly to our leadership or through our dedicated compliance channels. We take every report seriously and investigate all concerns with impartiality.
